Researchers from the Global Alliance for Neurosurgical & Brain Cancer Research Innovations have received an official response from the Scottish Government's Chief Scientist Office, acknowledging the global significance of their groundbreaking work. This research, led by Dr Nazar Vasyliv, PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh and Scientific CEO of the Alliance, combines photodynamic therapy and necroptosis to target glioblastoma cells while preserving healthy tissue.
Dr Vasyliv shares, "Our research has the potential to improve survival outcomes and quality of life for glioblastoma patients worldwide. We're delighted by this formal recognition from the Scottish Government’s CSO, highlighting our contributions to neuro-oncology."
The team's innovative approach has also received praise from the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, further validating the research's originality and potential.
Supported by the Beatson Cancer Charity, the Alliance continues to push the boundaries of glioblastoma treatment. They are actively seeking collaborators, welcoming academic researchers, healthcare institutions, and industry partners committed to advancing brain cancer therapy.
